Book Report Due Monday

Remember, the Stone Fox Book Report Project is due on Monday, November 23rd. I am excited to see how the reports have come out! Using the rubric, you can double check if you have completed each part to the best of your ability!

Just a reminder, there is a half day tomorrow and no school on Friday or Monday in observance of Columbus Day! Try to contain your excitement :)

Well, it doesn't get sweeter than this. Today, we celebrate 3 fun wacky days according to our wacky day calendar! Here are some fun facts for you today! 
-  The Constitution was signed in 1787. That's over 200 years ago! 
-  Country music is one of the most popular music genres in the world. 
-  Have you ever had a dumpling? They are yummy treats that have been around for a long time.

September Scholastic Orders

Hello all. Happy Thursday. I am hoping that the new book order forms made their way home yesterday. I so fondly remember getting a new book from Scholastic and I wanted to pass that along to both Mrs. Carroll's and Mrs. Kubiak's class. Directions were stapled to the flyers. All orders are due online or in school by next Tuesday, September 15th at noon.

We're Rocking

Today, the children will be rocking while taking their second half on their Mathematics MCAS test. I know they will be putting forth their best effort.

International Guide Dog Day

Today the students learned about "International Guide Dog Day." These four-legged heroes have also been our primary focus this week as we have discussed the services that dogs provide. If you get the opportunity, visit the Canines for Disabled Kids website to see the great work that is done by these animals and their trainers daily. We are the Champions!

We did it! Our fourth graders completed the 2015 ELA MCAS. Their effort was continuous and we are so proud of them. We are now going to go full speed ahead into our review of grade 4 math concepts to prepare for the 2015 MATH MCAS. Let's keep rocking and showing what we know!

Welcome Back

Welcome back. I hope that you all had a wonderful vacation and are well rested. These next few weeks are going to be packed with some fun and important practice activities that will prepare our learners for the upcoming MCAS test. Remember that morning academy also begins this week. Let's make every educational moment count. 

Today's the Day

We are so excited. The day has arrived where we will be snowshoeing. We cannot wait to get out there and trek through the freshly fallen snow! 

Welcome Back

Welcome back. My it seems crazy to think that we have missed out on 4 days of school already. But, we are going to do what we can to keep our expectations high. Book reports are going to be due next Thursday, February 12th and the Readitarod has begun. Please make sure that in addition to keeping up with the reading, math facts and math skills are not left in the dust. Xtra math and/or daily math fact practice is a non-negotiable and if and when you are in doubt when it comes to a math skill...re-watch the visual bridges on Pearsonsuccessnet....they are very helpful

Happenings at DES!

The next couple weeks at Dudley Elementary School are going to be full and exciting. As noted on the Classroom Times Newsletter that is coming home today, Friday Flicks will be held here this Friday. Our school-wide reading program will have its "kick-off" next Thursday, January 29th. Also, our before school MCAS prep program will begin soon as well. If you have any questions or would like to know more about the upcoming events send an email.

Book Report Book Choice & Sign Off

Hello there friends and families. Please note that the Biography book report book choice and report notification form is due tomorrow. All students in the fourth grade are responsible for completing these projects. If you need help with supplies, please let me know. Remember, we want to stay away from paper and repurpose and get creative!
